Rescued, Redeemed, and Forgiven

Opening Thought

By the middle of the week, Sunday's message can become a distant memory and begin to fade beneath the voices of work, family, media, and everyday pressures. Paul brings us back to the Gospel. Before telling believers how to live, he reminds them what Jesus has already done. The Christian life, and your life with Him today, begins with remembering who Christ is and who we are because of Him.

“For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”

Reflection

On Sunday we were reminded that our identity is not earned—it is received. Jesus has rescued us, redeemed us, and forgiven us. When other voices try to define you this week, return to God's Word and remember that your identity is found in Christ.

Biblical Tension

Culture says our identity is self-created. Scripture says our identity is found in Jesus Christ.

Remember, culture can change…..God’s Word never changes.

What voice has influenced my thinking more than God's Word this week?

Believe: I have been rescued, redeemed, and forgiven through Jesus Christ.

Pray: Jesus, remind me who I am whenever I am tempted to believe another voice.

Do: Read Colossians 1:13–14 each morning and thank Jesus for rescuing you.

Closing Encouragement

Remember, spiritual growth happens one faithful step at a time. Keep your eyes on Jesus this week, trust His Word above every other voice, and look for opportunities to reflect Him wherever you go.

Remember...When Jesus is above all, He changes all.
