In Crossroads Kids, we know that we serve a God who is bigger and more creative than anything our minds can comprehend, but through His Word, He gave us tangible examples to help us live like Him. Just as God gave us examples, we strive to share His principles in ways children and parents can understand.

This environment is geared for children ages birth to preschool where everything they experience will invoke WONDER and help them embrace a God who is bigger than their imagination.

This environment is where elementary children go to DISCOVER the greatness and everlasting, unchanging love of God. Everything we do is aimed to help them experience who God designed them to be and encourage them to live out their faith.

Child Dedication
Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to communicate before the Lord, family, and friends, the importance of Christ in their lives and their home. We desire for this to be a memorable celebration for everyone who attends as parents dedicate their child to the Lord.

Questions about the celebration
Is this an infant baptism?
No. We believe that a child must be old enough to understand what it means to put their faith in Jesus Christ before they can be baptized. This event is an opportunity for you as parents to publicly declare that you want to raise your child to develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
What is the biblical purpose for child dedication?
God has provided scripture that we believe provides direction and the value of child dedication. We see it first in 1 Samuel 1:27-28, where a godly woman named Hannah prayed year after year for God to give her a child. He answered her prayer, and she gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel. When Samuel was born, Hannah prayed these words: "For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So, I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives, he is dedicated to the Lord."
Another example is found in Luke chapter 2. Following the birth of Jesus, Mary and Joseph took the infant Jesus to the temple and dedicated Him. In both passages, the parents entrusted their child completely to God.
The writings of Moses, found in Deuteronomy 6:5-9, describe God's plan for how a parent should raise up a child: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them to your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your house and on your gates."
At Crossroads, Child Dedication will help you mark this step as you publicly express your desire to follow these biblical principles.
Is there an age limit for the child who is dedicated?
There is no minimum or maximum age your child must be to be dedicated.
What is expected to participate in Child Dedication?
The very nature of this process is asking you, as parents, to commit to raising your child in a home that leads them into a relationship with their heavenly Father. It is because of this, we ask that at least one or both parents have made a commitment to having a personal relationship with Jesus. We recognize that there are many families in which only one parent has come to faith, and the spouse who is not yet a believer would like to participate. That is okay.
If I am a single parent, can I participate in the Child Dedication celebration?
Yes! Child Dedication signifies the commitment of parents (including single parents) to do their best to raise their child to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
How much does Child Dedication cost?
There is no cost to participate in Child Dedication.
Preparing for the celebration
How many people can I invite?
We encourage you to invite friends and family to this celebration. We will do our best to have enough seats set up at your table(s) for them. Please email cedwards@crossroadsbuckley.com with the number of guests you are expecting at least one week before the event if it is different from the number you put on your registration form.
What do I need to do between now and the day of the celebration?
Invite your friends and family. We will be sending you a short homework challenge that you will share with your table(s) of family and friends to be shared on celebration day.
What do I need to bring with me?
Besides your friends, family, and child (don't forget them at home!), please bring the piece of paper you wrote your "Imagine the End homework" on.
The day of the celebration
What time should we arrive?
Doors open half an hour prior to the celebration's start time. The event is from 6pm to 7pm.
What should we wear?
Whatever you and your little one will feel most comfortable in! Some people dress casually in jeans, while others wear more formal attire.
I can barely get my child to sit still long enough to get them dressed. How will they survive the entire celebration event?
Your child will make noise during the celebration day event. But that's okay, because so will everyone else!
Will there be a photographer?
We will have a photography vignette set up for family photos. Please bring your own camera, and we will have volunteers to take your picture.
What can I expect on the day of the celebration?
The event should last no more than 45 minutes. The production will include desserts/snacks, a welcome, and a short message. During this time, you will have an opportunity to share your homework. You will also be led in a prayer of dedication before being dismissed.
Summer Spectacular
End of June. This event is a week of fun, VBS style. It is a four day experience, open to 4 year olds through 5th graders, filled with action packed games, story time, energetic live music, and awesome crafts.

We know that visiting a new church can feel like a big step for kids as well as parents! If your nursery or preschool child needs a little extra time to get comfortable, you're welcome to observe from a short distance at the beginning of the service while they settle in. Once they're comfortable, we ask parents to allow our Crossroads Kids team to care for them.
For elementary-age kids, we encourage parents to let them jump in on their own. Our team will help them feel welcome, get connected, and begin making new friends. Our hope is that every child quickly discovers that Crossroads Kids is a place for them.
